I'm confused about Covid-19/ Corona virus

Confused about coronavirus? Here's some easy read advice

The NHS has a helpline to answer questions and concerns around corona virus. To avoid spreading the virus, call this helpline by dialling 111.

This means trying to avoid contact with other people as much as possible. We want to reduce the chance of you becoming ill and avoid further spreading the virus.

This means you can still go outside and still use non-contact communication methods to stay connected.

Your body’s health is a huge part of wellbeing, below there is advice on the following:

Taking responsibility for looking after your body day to day is really important, but sometimes, it’s not easy.

How do I get help to look after my medical needs?

A General Practitioner doctor, or ‘GP’, is a qualified doctor who is available to see you within normal working hours, usually. They know how to get the right level of care for you. Having a good, trusting relationship is really important; it will help you feel listened to and safely looked after.

GP’s are based at ‘practices’, ‘surgery’s’ or ‘health care centres’, these are buildings where you can access health care advice, you have to be registered with one particular practice to access the help from them.

You can choose where you are registered, if you don’t feel a GP is taking your concerns seriously you can choose to change to a different practice. There are 80 different GP surgeries in Cumbria alone.

Colds and Flu

Colds and Flu are more common in the winter months, particularly in new environments around lots of people (i.e. in college). See the advice below from a pharmacist.
